‘Matar ki chaat’ is yet another delicious addition in our list of chaat recipes. Like jhal muri, matar ki chaat or popularly known as 'Ghugni' is also a very popular street food in Kolkata and is made using dried pigeon peas, also known as ‘Safed matar’. These pigeon peas are pale brown in color and taste absolutely divine and robust with flavors when combined with onion, tomatoes, lemon juice and spices. Matar ki chaat is usually served as a snack and also tastes great as a main course dish when paired with bread, pav, kulcha or naan.
Serve matar ki chaat as a snack or team up with bread, kulcha, pav or naan for a tongue tickling main course meal. Team with wood apple squash and enjoy!
For main course, you can team matar ki chaat with aloo chana ghugni or achari dum aloo. Pair along dhaniya masala parantha with onion and lime wedges. Do not miss to serve sweet sonth chutney. Matar ki chaat and sonth chutney is a match made in heaven.
