Gujarati kadhi is a yogurt based preparation thickened with gramflour and a popular main course dish from Gujarat. It has a wonderful medley of sweet and spicy flavors due to jaggery and assortment of whole and powdered spices, but unlike the Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda it is very light on palate and goes very well with rice and all types of khichidi.
If you have ever relished a Gujarati thali, then you must have loved this kadhi. Since it has a burst of sweet flavors along with spicy notes, hence having spoonfuls of it in between the meals is very satisfying. The best part, this is one of the easiest and quickest recipe of kadhi as you don’t need to make any pakodis or fritters to dip in. Hence, this Gujarati kadhi gets ready in about 20 minutes or so and also no onion garlic is added to it.
