Aloo Matar Sabji is one of those staple recipes that are cooked on almost regular basis in North Indian kitchens. For me, aloo matar sabji and rice is an on go meal when I want to have a light and quick lunch without investing much of my time in kitchen.

While most people love to make Aloo Matar Curry with a thick Onion-Garlic based gravy, there are others who want to relish on a simple meal without onion garlic and any other grinding & roasting procedures. So my this recipe is for the second batch!

This Aloo Matar Sabji without Onion Garlic is probably the simplest Aloo matar recipe that you can try in your kitchen, even if you have done nothing before in cooking more than boiling eggs & making tea. So anyone who is not very fond of those pungent flavors of Onion & Garlic can try out this recipe and enjoy a complete home cooked meal with rotis, paranthas, rice and salad. This recipe involves the regular method of Indian cooking i.e. Pressure Cooker, hence it makes your cooking easier and quicker. Also, since it is not a very Spicy curry, so it is light on palate as well.

Aloo matar sabji made this way without onion garlic makes for a scrumptious breakfast with Ajwain Puris. Go to cities like Mathura, Vrindawan, Banaras, Allahabad and you will see people happily relishing this delicious combo with Chaas or tea along with some Namak Pare on side.

For a simple North Indian meal pair Aloo Matar sabji with Karela stir fry, Baingan Bharta and the humble Dal Tadka. Serve along with Chapatis, rice and do not miss Kachumbar Salad and some roasted Papads on side, as no meal is complete without these.

Need to pack a quick Lunch Box?….then pack this Aloo matar sabji with Jeera rice, Masala Curd and any pickle of choice.
