Did you know, POTATOES  are naturally rich in vitamins and minerals. Contrary to popular belief, potatoes are not inherently fattening. If you add butter, oil or sour cream to potatoes, you increase the numbers of calories and fat grams significantly. So if you are trying to lose weight, season them with herbs or low-calorie condiments. However, since they are also a great source of ‘Sugar’, hence people suffering with high levels of diabetics should be careful while consuming it.

How to make Grilled Potato Masala Sandwich

  • To  begin with making potato masala sandwich, we need to make the stuffing first.
  • For this, heat oil in a wok or pan and add mustard seeds. When they crackle add chopped ginger & green chilly. Saute for a while.
  • Add roughly mashed potatoes, salt and all the powdered spices. Give a nice mix and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Mix in freshly chopped coriander and remove from heat. Our spicy stuffing is ready.
  • Now, apply some butter/oil on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place one bread slice on a plate or chopping board (Buttered side down) and spread a spoonful of potato stuffing. Top it with a cheese slice and cover with another slice of bread (Buttered side up).
  • Repeat this procedure with the remaining bread slices.
  • Now, carefully place these sandwiches on a pre-heated griller or electronic sandwich maker.  Grill for 5-7 minutes or till the sandwiches turn golden and crisp to your perfection.
  • Switch off the griller and transfer the sandwiches to a serving plate.
