Mint Rice is super easy and quick to make and tastes amazing with almost any vegetable preparation be it with gravy or without the gravy. You can also pair Pudina Rice with some dal, pickle, raita or just relish it as a one bowl meal for a light evening snack.

Chop fresh mint leaves and scatter them over a tossed green or sprout salad. The leaves will add trace amounts of nutrients as well as a bold flavor. Stir chopped mint into tikkis or cutlets and serve on leafy greens with a drizzle of sesame or olive oil. Add chopped mint leaves to brewed iced tea or lemonade or stir them into fruit salad. Recipe Ingredients

  • Steamed rice – 3 cups
  • Fresh mint leaves - A handful
  • Cumin seeds – 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Green chilly (Slit lengthwise) – 2
  • Dry mango powder (Amchur) – 1 teaspoon
  • Cloves – 4
  • Salt – To taste
  • Oil – 2 tablespoon

How to make Pudina Rice Or Mint Rice

  • To begin with making mint pulao, just roughly tear the mint leaves. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok and add cumin seeds, cloves, green chilly and fry for a minute on low fame.
  • Add turmeric powder, prepared rice, salt, dry mango powder, chilly powder and mix.
  • Cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.
  • Add in the mint leaves and give a quick mix.
  • Remove from heat.
