Coconut Burfi or Nariyal Burfi With Khoya is made with fine coconut scrapings, khoya, sugar and ghee. Richness of khoya when combined with the nutty flavors of coconut (Nariyal) tastes divine and a slight hint of cardamom powder takes this coconut burfi to another level.

There are many versions of making Coconut Burfi at home which we are definitely going to share in future, though you can check out our recipe to make Coconut Ladoo. Right now we are bringing to you this very simple recipe of making coconut burfi with Khoya or Mawa. The benefit of adding khoya into coconut mixture is that, it sets very easily. Hence you can give perfect shape to your dessert say square, rectangle or diamond cuts. On the other hand, burfi made only with desiccated coconut and condensed milk takes time to set and that too not perfectly, though I must say it tastes good.

Khoya is basically milk solids made with simmering milk on low heat while stirring constantly to avoid burning that you would literally end up building muscles doing this. To be honest, it is not easy to make khoya at home as a good quantity of khoya takes hours to get ready and I am not joking!

But who says you need to do all of that???

Get some freshly made khoya readymade from the market and turn it into this sinful dessert in no time, as simple as that!

Now over to the recipe!!

While setting this burfi sprinkle some coconut shavings or desiccated coconut. This looks stunning.

Since ‘Coconut’ is rich in fiber and nutrients, hence this burfi is often given to ‘Pregnant Women’ to boost their energy levels and build body metabolism. A daily doze of 1-2 pieces of Coconut Mawa Burfi along with a glassful of Turmeric Milk or Saffron Almond Milk is recommended, especially for growing kids and pregnant women.
