Rajasthani Dahi Mirchi Ki Sabji is spicy kadhi recipe. To make Dahi Mirchi ki sabji we need 200 gram Green Chilli, 1 cup curd, Besan and spices as mentioned in Incredients.  

Dahi Mirch Ki Sabzi hails from the very rich Rajasthani Cuisine and is one of its kind - Spicy, robust, tangy and very delicious. If your family loves to hog on spicy food, then this is the perfect curry to serve for Main Course with rotis, bakhri or rice.

In this curry regular variety of green chilli are not used, but the broad ones are used (Also known as Jalapenos)that are less spicy and are often made into pickles. But anyways, chillies cooked in spicy yogurt gravy with a generous use of hing, fennel seeds (Sauf) taste ultimate and this curry is superb for those who have a palate for Spicy Flavors. Also it makes a delicious Winter Recipe since Chillies are known to provide heat and warmth to the body. Though we would recommend not to consume this curry in excessive quantity, as this may lead to acidity or stomach upset.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Jalepanos (Moti hari mirch) - 200 gms.
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Chickpea flour (Besan) - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida (Hing) - A pinch or two
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - To taste
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1/2 cup or as required for gravy

How to make Dahi Mirch Ki Sabzi

  • Making Dahi Mirch Ki Sabzi is really easy and you don’t need to invest much of time in this.
  • To begin with making this spicy curry, we need to take a mixing bowl and add in curd, water, chickpea flour and whisk to get a smooth batter. Keep aside as we would be needing it to make gravy later.
  • Now wash chilli and cut in pieces. In a pan heat oil and add cumin seeds and asafoetida (Hing).
  • When they crackle add in cut chilli and saute for a minute or two till they get tender.
  • Add in curd batter, turmeric powder, garam masala and mix to combine well.
  • Season with salt and bring to a boil on low to medium flame while stirring occasionally.
  • After a boil reduce the flame to sim and simmer for another minute before turning off the gas.
  • Dahi Mirch Ki Sabzi is now ready. Serve hot !
