Recipe Ingredients

  • Sweet corn kernels – 2 cups
  • Gram flour – ½ cup
  • Green chilly (Chopped) – 2 teaspoon or to taste
  • Ginger (Chopped) – 2 teaspoon
  • Freshly chopped coriander – A handful
  • Freshly chopped mint – A handful
  • Garam masala – 2 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – To taste
  • Water – To make batter
  • Refined oil – To deep fry

How to make Corn Pakoda

  • To begin with making these spicy sweet corn pakoda, we need to make a batter first.
  • For this coarsely grind half of the corn kernels. Reserve the other half.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine together the ground corn kernels, whole kernels and all the remaining ingredients (Except oil) including powdered spices.
  • Mix to make a thick batter with sufficient water.
  • Now heat oil in a frying pan and drop in spoonful of batter. Fry in small batches till golden and crisp.
  • Transfer to a plate with kitchen absorbent paper.

Crunchy sweet corn fritters are now ready. Serve hot with chutney of choice and masala tea.
