‘Poha’ (Flattened rice flakes/aval/choora/chiwda) is a staple in Indian households and is used to make various sweet and savory dishes. Almost every state in India offers it’s unique delicious poha recipe.
In Indore (Madhya Pradesh), ‘Moongphalli Poha’ is a popular breakfast item with a hint of sweetness and is served hot with ginger tea and farsaan. The intense flavors of ginger, green chilly bring out the taste and peanuts give a crunchiness that makes the dish absolutely delish to savor with a hot cup of tea. This recipe is quite simple with easy to follow steps and there is nothing where you can go wrong.
A word of caution, to prevent poha from turning ‘Soggy’, wash it in a strainer and keep to rest for at least 5 minutes before cooking.
Serve this Indori style moongphalli poha in bowls or quarter plates. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander, onion, green chilli (Optional) and farsaan. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and relish with your favorite cup of ginger tea.
You can also pair it with your regular meal. Serve Indori style moongphalli poha with aloo methi curry, palak ki kadhi, phulkas and kachumbar salad. Relish with roasted papads and masala chaas.
And yes….if you like to include ‘Poha’ in your regular menu, then do try our poha recipes for…..
