Recipe Ingredients

  • Shredded cabbage – 2 cups tightly packed
  • Garlic (Finely chopped) – 2 cloves
  • Ginger (Finely chopped) – 2 teaspoon
  • Refined flour – 1-2 teaspoon
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Vegetable stock or water  – 1 cup (Adjustable)
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilly flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (Adjastable)
  • Salt – To taste
  • Butter or oil – 1 tablespoon

How to make Cabbage Soup With Milk

  • To begin with making this French style cabbage soup, heat butter in a saucepan.
  • Add chopped garlic, ginger, refined flour and saute till pink.
  • Now slowly add in the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Let it bubble for a while on medium heat and then stir in the vegetable stock or water. Cook till it comes to a boil.
  • Now lower the heat and add shredded cabbage, salt and the remaining spices.
  • Give a nice stir and cook for about 2 minutes till the cabbage turns tender but not soft.
  • Remove from heat.

‘Cabbage soup with milk’ is now ready. Garnish with some paprika and serve as suggested above.
