Panakam or Panagam is a very traditional drink from South India and is often served in temples as naivedyam or prasadam. Panakam means ‘Sweet Drink’ in Sanskrit and as it is made with jaggery or gur as the main ingredient, hence it is very soothing and refreshing for summers.
