Recipe Ingredients

  • Cashew nuts (Kaju) - 200 gms.
  • Sendha namak/ Farali salt - To taste
  • Black pepper powder (Kali mirch powder) - 1 teaspoon

How to make Roasted Cashew Nuts

Making Roasted Cashews is really easy at home and healthy too. So here, we share you 3 simple methods that you can refer to make this in your microwave convection oven and gas top cooking -

  1. Baking
  2. Grilling
  3. Roasting over gas top 

Method 1. Baking  

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and spread cashew nuts on a baking tray.
  2. Bake for about 5-7 minutes or till you get the desired color and crunch.
  3. Remove from oven and carefully empty these roasted cashews in a bowl.
  4. Sprinkle farali salt, black pepper powder and toss.
  5. Cool at room temperature and store in an air tight container. 

Method 2. Grilling - 

  1. In this method we would be ‘Grilling’ cashews in a microwave oven.
  2. Spread cashews on a baking tray and put on upper rack in your oven.
  3. Grill for 3-5 minutes on high heat.
  4. Remove from oven, mix in the seasonings and cool at room temperature.

Method 3. Roasting over gas top 

  1. Heat a pan on your gas top and roast cashews on low flame while stirring at intervals. No need to add oil or ghee.
  2. It would take about 5-7 minutes for the cashews to get a lovely golden color.
  3. Remove from heat. Cool, mix in the seasonings and store.

NOTE - 

Whatever method you choose from above to make roasted cashews, they would gain crispiness only after they are allowed to cool at room temperature.

Always make sure to store these roasted cashews in a proper air tight container for better shelf life.
