Recipe Ingredients

  • Aloo or Potatoes (Boiled & peeled) - 4 medium
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger (Grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilly (Roughly chopped) - 1 teaspoon or to taste
  • Black pepper powder (Kali mirch powder) - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Farali salt/Sendha namak - To taste
  • Desi ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander chopped - A handful

How to make Vrat Ke Aloo or Falahari Aloo An Easy Navratri Vrat

To begin with making Vrat ke Aloo we need to cut boiled potatoes ( aloo) in cubes and keep aside.

  1. In a pan heat desi ghee and add in cumin seeds. When they begin to splutter put chopped green chilly, ginger and saute for a minute.
  2. Now add potato cubes, black pepper powder and stir. Cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame while stirring once or twice in between.
  3. When you notice that the potatoes have gained a slight brown color, add in lime juice and mix well.
  4. Switch off the flame. Vrat ke Aloo are now ready, garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve.
