Kadha also known as Karha is an Ayurvedic drink that is recommended to be consumed during Monsoons and Winters. Kadha boosts your immunity to fight against cough, cold, fever and general illness that might onset due to seasonal changes.

This medicinal drink is actually a kind of Herbal Tea that is made with boiling assorted herbs and spices like cloves, tulsi, ginger, black pepper along with tea leaves and sugar. Some people also prefer to add Honey instead of sugar. See more Tea Recipes - Mumbai style Cutting Chai and Masala Tea Recipe.

The recipe to make Kadha is very traditional and you might get to remember that how your grandmother used to make this every monsoon or winters and insisted for you to sip on.

While typing this recipe I am geting nostalgic, still remember those days….my nani (Grandmother) used to hold the glass of Kadha with her sari pallu and sip the drink for at least half an hour while reading some mythological book. Miss her!

Ok, now coming back to the topic -These home made remedies work like a miracle, though sad to see that now in the world of Globalization we are only depended on herbal teas and green teas that come in fancy packs. So, let us check out our Desi recipe of Karha.

For adults 2-3 cups of Kadha a day is sufficient. Kids must not consume more than 1/2 to 1 cup a day.

Note - Overdoze of this drink might lead to acidity or stomach upset.
